La Leche League helps families by providing free meetings led by volunteer Leaders who have breastfed their own babies for a year or more and are accredited by La Leche League International. LLL offers support between meetings for breastfeeding challenges, such as positioning and latch, being sure baby is getting enough milk, soreness, pumping and milk storage, and the various stages of breastfeeding as baby grows. Through its activities for health care professionals and the public, La Leche League helps to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.
