The BLACK Collaborative Inc. is a nonprofit coalition dedicated to eliminating racial inequities in maternal and infant health. Founded by Dr. Natashia L. Conner, PhD, MPhil, MS, IBCLC, the organization brings together a diverse team of public health practitioners, clinicians, researchers, and community leaders. With programs such as the Rootwork Project, Community Care Closet, and THRIVE 2025, The BLACK Collaborative amplifies community voices while addressing barriers rooted in historical inequities and systemic racism.
Through a social ecological and critical race theory framework, the Collaborative drives initiatives that integrate research, advocacy, and community-centered action. Our work spans local to international platforms, building sustainable systems of care that support breastfeeding, reproductive justice, and overall family well-being.
