Brenda serves as an equity consultant, evaluator, facilitator, mentor, speaker, trainer, and advocate. She provides services to the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Midwest, Southwest, Mountain Plains, and West regions through online, in-person, and hybrid formats.
Work Highlights Brenda has worked with governing bodies of an organization, individuals in a formal leadership role, individuals who oversee operations of teams, and staff/key personnel or volunteers within an organization. She has served and partnered with various populations, including Asian or Asian American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic or LatinX, Middle Eastern or North African, White/Caucasian, Black/African American, and immigrants.
Professional Summary Brenda has worked in First Food DEI for over two decades. Her experience varies from co-chairing committees, developing recommendations, establishing dialogue between national organizations, and educating others through trainings and workshops. Some of the highlights of Brenda’s time working in First Food DEI have been selected to participate in the National First Food Racial Equity Cohort, serving as a reviewer and consultant for the “Applying a Racial Equity Lens to U.S. Federal Nutrition Policies: SNAP, WIC and Child” by Bread for the World Institute Nutrition, and acting as an elected board member of the National Association of Professional and Peer Lactation Support Providers of Color. Some of her prior positions include working with diverse organizations such as WIC, FQHC, social service organizations, hospitals, and grassroot organizations to address first food racial equity.
