Education & Credentials Christine has taken classes and trainings in diversity, equity, and inclusion including NICHQ: Strategies to Combat Racism, NIHCQ: Applying an Equity Lens to Safe Sleep and Breastfeeding Efforts, and Language Matters: How We Talk About Infant Feeding with Clients, Colleagues, and Communities.
Work Highlights She has worked with governing bodies of an organization, individuals in a formal leadership role, individuals who oversee operations of teams, and staff/key personnel or volunteers within an organization. She has served and partnered with various populations, including Asian or Asian American, Hispanic or LatinX, Middle Eastern or North African, White/Caucasian, Black/African American, immigrants, and LGBTQIA2S+.
Professional Summary Breastfeeding is a powerful tool for improving health outcomes and promoting health equity. Christine was involved in forming a breastfeeding support group specific to women of color that targeted educating regarding increasing equity for Black women in breastfeeding. The breastfeeding rates for this population increased 3.58% in 18 months and the infant mortality rate for Black infants decreased by 10%. Christine and her team won the Tax Watch Productivity Award (a program which publicly recognizes state employees whose work significantly improves state) for this work in December 2020.
