Nakeya serves as an equity consultant, facilitator, speaker, and trainer. She provides services to the West region through online, in-person, and hybrid formats.
Education & Credentials Nakeya has a Master’s in Social Work and has completed many trainings on DEI.
Work Highlights She has worked with governing bodies of an organization, individuals who oversee operations of teams, and individuals in a formal leadership role. She has served and partnered with various populations, including Black/African Americans.
Professional Summary Nakeya founded and currently leads the Black Mental Health Task Force which includes CBOs and individuals. She has helped lead multiple events to improve equity such as a resume building workshop and an online Celebration of Healing event to destigmatize mental health in our communities. She has also partnered with the African American Infant and Maternal Mortality Community Action team to host a Celebrating Black Families event that supported community building and a focus on improving the group esteem of Black persons to impact change in the health outcomes of Black mothers and babies. She is passionate about speaking addressing intergenerational trauma, and how culture and ethnicity play a role in health matters.
