Mary Wachira

Mary serves as an equity consultant and advocate. She provides services to the Southeast through in-person formats.

Education & Credentials
Mary is currently enrolled in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF college. She has completed multiple lactation trainings from Michigan Breastfeeding Network, Black Mothers' Breastfeeding Association, and ROSE.

Work Highlights
She has worked with individuals in a formal leadership role, and staff/key personnel or volunteers within an organization. She has served and partnered with various populations, including Hispanic or LatinX, Black/African American, immigrants, and substance using individuals.

Professional Summary
Mary has been a part of many breastfeeding initiatives in her health department and in and the Task Forces that she is a board member of. She is a force for diversity, equity and inclusion in her place of work. She helped champion the Tampa Bay Breastfeeding Task Force People of Color Lactation Education Scholarship and it is in its 3rd year. She is happy to help work towards a more equitable future.
